Fuel Pass Problems and Fixes: Crashes, Queues, OTP Issues
Fuel Pass app crashing? OTP not arriving? Long queues at the pump? Practical fixes from the Dhaka pilot.
The Fuel Pass pilot launched to heavy demand — and heavy demand broke things. Here are the known problems and what actually helps.
Portal and app crashes
Both fuelpass.gov.bd and the Android app went down repeatedly under launch traffic. There is no magic fix: try off-peak hours (early morning), keep the app updated from Google Play, and be patient. The system is a pilot — instability is expected, if frustrating.
OTP not arriving
Confirm the mobile number is active and has signal. Wait a full few minutes before requesting a new code — rapid re-requests can lock you out temporarily. If it never arrives, try again later; SMS gateways buckle under load.
Details rejected
The system checks your entries against the BRTA database. Any mismatch — a mistyped chassis digit, an old registration number format — fails verification. Copy details exactly from your BRTA documents.
Long queues at stations
During the pilot only two Dhaka stations participate, so queues concentrate. Arrive with your QR ready (phone or printed copy) to keep your transaction quick.
No iOS app
iPhone users: the website works fine in Safari, and a printed QR is the most reliable option at the pump.
