Fuel Pass Registration Walkthrough: Get Your QR Code
Step-by-step Fuel Pass registration at fuelpass.gov.bd: BRTA details, NID, OTP, and your QR code — plus what to do when it fails.
Registering for Bangladesh’s Fuel Pass takes about ten minutes when the system cooperates. Here is the full walkthrough.
What you need first
Your vehicle registration number, chassis number, and engine number (from your BRTA papers), the NID number used when the vehicle was registered, and an active mobile number for OTP. Have them written down before you start.
The steps
1. Go to fuelpass.gov.bd (or open the Android app). 2. Start registration and enter your vehicle details — the system verifies them against the BRTA central database, so they must match your papers exactly. 3. Enter your NID and mobile number. 4. Enter the OTP sent to your phone. 5. The system generates your unique QR code — download it to your phone, and consider printing a backup copy.
At the pump
Show the QR code to the operator, who scans it before dispensing fuel. The transaction is recorded against your vehicle — that is the whole point of the system.
If it fails
Wrong details are the top cause: re-check chassis and engine numbers character by character. OTP not arriving? Check the number is active and retry. Portal crashing? See our problems and fixes guide.
